How can you tell if the burgers are ready to flip if you can’t see the grill?

It doesn’t matter what you’re cooking; you’ll likely burn dinner or yourself if you don’t have enough light to barbecue under. That’s why we have put together this review of the best grill lights currently available.

Keep reading for reviews of the best outdoor LED grill lights, and a buying guide further down with importing things to consider prior to making a purchase.

The Best Grill Lights Reviews

1. Sirius 1.0 Barbecue Grill Light By Zeust

Sirius 1.0 Barbecue Grill Light By Zeust

The first entry on our list of the best grill lights is the Sirius 1.0 barbecue and grill light by Zuest, which is one of the best of the brighter options reviewed here.

Quality you can count on…

With ten high-output LED lights, this is one of the best options for those looking for the best high-quality grill light. Made of durable nylon glass fiber rather than the cheap plastic many models rely on, this unit is a shining beacon of durability. There is even a 60-day money-back guarantee and a two-year replacement guarantee offered by the manufacturer.

How bright is it really?

The Sirius barbecue light pumps out a heaping 105 lumens, has an auto-off feature to help with battery life, and ‘Grilling Tips’ book to help you get the most out of your barbecue no matter how dark it may be outside. Because no one likes under or overcooked dinner, nor do we want to have to take the food off of the heat to see if it’s done under light elsewhere.

Barbecue all year, no matter how early the sun sets and no matter the temperature with the Sirius grill light that can stand heat as extreme as 365ºF all the way down to sub-zero. This means it’s not going to melt on you if you have it clamped to a hot barbecue nor cut out if you’re trying to cook dinner while it’s snowing out.

How does it mount?

There are a few mounting options that you’ll see below on the other grill light reviews, and the most common is a screw clamp. Zuest accomplishes this better than some by using an adjustable zinc-alloy screw clamp that can be used on just about any barbecue handle. In fact, this just might be the best grill handle light, but you’ll have to keep reading to see how others may have better advantages.

We especially liked the use of a SmartTouch on switch, as this makes this light easier to use with a pair of tongs or a spatula in your hand.

PROS

  • SmartTOUCH technology on/off.
  • Brighter than many options.
  • Can clamp to just about any handle.

CONS

  • This unit burns through batteries faster than some options.
  • Clamp design can be difficult to use on flat surfaces like tabletops.

2. Grilluminator Ultra-Bright BBQ Light By Grillinator

Grilluminator Ultra-Bright BBQ Light By Grillinator

Certainly, we can all agree that it’s simply best to have a well-lit area for cooking on. You’re less likely to burn yourself or the food, and the Grilluminator helps you solve the issue of a dark porch or barbecue pit with the coolest sounding name of any of the options in this review.

Can it be left on the grill at all times?

Yes, we do agree that the best grill mounted lights would simply always be there when we need them. After all, who wants to be bothered with remembering where they left it after the last use, or worse, burn the food when leaving it unattended to go inside and find the torch.

That’s why Grillinator has designed this unit to be weather resistant, allowing you to leave it attached full time in most climates. The sealed battery compartment and weatherproof plastic case should keep the unit protected, though we will note that the whole unit is not completely waterproof. So, you may still want to bring it in before any big storms hit the area.

What exactly does ultra-bright mean?

With 100 lumens are generated by the 10 LED lights, you’ll get a nice clear view of what you’re cooking up for dinner, and the 20,000-hour life the LEDs provide means that you won’t need to worry about the bulbs burning out like with traditional light bulbs.

The universal screw-clamp design will fit most any barbecue handles, and the 180º head-movement allows for adjustment as needed.

PROS

  • Ultra-bright barbecue light.
  • Weather-resistant housing.
  • Clamp anywhere design.

CONS

  • The quality is not as good as with some options listed here.
  • The power button can be a bit touch.

3. Grill Kindle Super Bright Led Barbecue Grill Light

Grill Kindle Super Bright Led Barbecue Grill Light

Another clamp mount grill light that is similar to the last listing in most ways is the Grill Kindle LED barbecue light. While maybe not the best bbq grill light on the list, it is a fair bit less expensive than some options while still having most of the same features.

With ten high powered LED lights and 190º head rotation for adjusting the light to exactly where you need it, this barbecue light is comparable to most on this list.

What sets it apart?

The sturdy universal screw clamp will attach most BBQ handles or hoods other than the Kettle Grills style, and the heat-resistant ABS plastic won’t melt into a worthless mess while you’re cooking. However, it’s the touch sensitive power button that we felt set this light apart.

Where’s the button on this dang thing?

No more struggling to find the on/off switch with the Grill Kindle, as the easily accessed switch gives you light with just a touch. So, you’ll be able to roll out the old line of ‘let there be light’ even in the darkest conditions.

You can pull around 12 hours of illumination from the 3 AA batteries provided, so you won’t have to worry about it dying part way through if you have a long night of barbecuing ahead. We do feel that the parts on this one seems a bit on the cheaper side and have heard reports of the torch’s head filling with water during heavier downpours but didn’t experience this ourselves.

PROS

  • Touch sensitive on/off switch.
  • Works with most grills.
  • Heat resistant ABS plastic.

CONS

  • Not the best waterproofing.
  • Lower quality materials than some others here.

4. Bright Eyes Magnetic Barbecue Light Set

Bright Eyes Magnetic Barbecue Light Set

If you’re not a fan of the clamp-mount style barbecue lights, fear not. Our next entry in these best grill lights reviews is the Magnetic Barbecue Light from BRIGHT EYES.

What’s the best part of this option?

We really like that the BRIGHT EYES option is an all-around more versatile light, as you can just stick it anywhere and don’t need to worry about a handle. After all, you often need to close and open the lid of your grill while you’re outside, and it can be a pain needing to adjust the light if it’s attached to the handle.

You may still want light with the lid down…

You also get a flexible steel neck rather than a swiveling head, which means you can be more precise with where you shine the best magnetic grill lights we reviewed.

Not usable on stainless-steel barbecues…

Yes, the magnetic feature does have its limits as some stainless-steel grills will not have a good place to attach this option; however, the best feature of this light makes it a serious contender for the best light for gas grills for another reason.

Double the fun!

Sold as a set, so you have twice as much light for cooking by. This is great if you have a larger cooking surface, or simply want to keep an eye on the meat waiting to be cooked. Rather handy if you have dogs licking their chops as you cook the feast.

We will note that the plastic lens can melt if it gets too close to the flame, and some of the other materials also seem of lower quality than we’d like. Also, the magnet could be stronger, in our opinion, as we are dealing with something we use with an open flame nearby.

PROS

  • Magnetic so can place them just about anywhere.
  • Flexible gooseneck allows for precision lighting.
  • Offers a very bright 150 Lumen.

CONS

  • Not fully weatherproof.
  • Only rated to 176ºF, so keep further from the flames.

5. Cave Tools Barbecue Grill Light

Cave Tools Barbecue Grill Light

The barbecue lighting accessory from Cave Tools is another handle mount option, though this one is upgraded to work for both round and square bars. This is a nice upgrade, as it also allows you to use on tabletops of the appropriate thickness.

Can’t wait for that steak…

With the 100+ lumens to illuminate that steak, we are now daydreaming about; you’ll not need to worry about having trouble telling if it’s time to flip. Well, unless you need some pointers.

They have that covered as well!

Accompanied by 25 professional barbecue recipes, grilling tutorial videos, and a free downloadable meat smoking journal, you get everything you need to get out there and make us dinner.

What else is special about this option?

The head provides full 360º rotation, which is twice most options in the clamp-mount category, and the unit is water & heat resistant so you can grill even if there’s light rain.

We especially liked the lifetime satisfaction guarantee, as this provides a level of security in your purchase that has become rare in modern commerce.

PROS

  • Fully rotating head.
  • Upgraded clamp-mount for wider versatility.
  • Bright 100+ lumens offer enough light for most needs.

CONS

  • If you purchase this option as the best grill light for big green egg, then you won’t have an excuse to buy another later.

6. Kohree Bright Barbecue Grill Light

Kohree Bright Barbecue Grill Light

The bright barbecue grill light by Kohree is another example of the c-clamp style mount for easy attachment to any grill handle. With 1.65” of adjustment, this torch will accommodate just about all makes and models, making it one of the best mounted grill lights available.

The 10 LEDs offer 100 lumens, so you’ll be able to see those ribs turn a nice shade of yumminess, while the whole unit runs off of 3 AA batteries with each set offering about 20 hours of illumination.

Is it waterproof?

While the manufacturer does advise that you can leave this unit attached, we should note that the packaging states durable and heat-resistant ABS materials but does not say waterproof anywhere specifically. As some users have reported issues with wet seeping through the housing, we would suggest you remove the light from the grill if you live in a wet area.

What about the adjustability?

This light from Kohree offers 190º of both horizontal and vertical adjustment, so you can easily move it around to focus on different parts of the grill. The switch is easily accessible on the handle, allowing you to turn it off and on as needed.

How long with the LED last?

Most LEDs last an incredibly long time compared to the traditional light bulbs, and these are no exception with 50,000 hours of shine provided.

PROS

  • Clamp-style mount fits most grill handles.
  • Wide horizontal and vertical adjustment to put the light beam where you need it most.
  • One of the cheapest options listed here.

CONS

  • Not truly waterproof.
  • Materials feel cheaper than with some options.

7. Life Mounts All Weather Led Barbecue Grill Light

Life Mounts All Weather Led Barbecue Grill Light

If you like the idea of leaving your light attached to the grill at all times, then this may be the best option for you. As the name suggests, this barbecue light is fully weatherproof, so you needn’t worry about the rain, snow, or heat.

Always there when you need it…

We really like this, as many of us are known to have more than one junk drawer that we stick things in, and if it’s always attached to the grill when you need it, then there is no searching for it while the burgers burn.

Keep reading to see why this might be the best big green egg grill light…

Life Mounts also claims that this is the only light available that fits every grill on the market, and we can see how this could be true with the unique mount. Rather than a screw-tightening c-clamp, Life Mounts uses a fully adjustable strap that can be tightened around any handle, no matter the shape or diameter.

We will note that a handle is necessary, so if you use an old school charcoal grill where the top isn’t hinged, this may not work for you.

That’s not all…

With a full 360º rotation, you can shine this anywhere you need without having to adjust the location of the whole unit, which we find is rather handy. We also really like the 300 Lumen CREE LEDs, which gives off more light than most options here.

PROS

  • Fully weatherproof design.
  • Brighter than many options here.
  • Easy to adjust, put-anywhere strap mount.
  • Fully adjustable directional shine.

CONS

  • Requires a handle to mount to, cannot be used on countertops.

8. Led Concepts Bbq Grill Light

Led Concepts Bbq Grill Light

This best grill lights option can be used on both handles, and countertops is the BBQ Grill Light from LED Concepts. This unit provides both an adjustable screw clamp with a wider range of adjustment, as well as, a magnetic base for those grills without a handle or side platform to fasten to.

Stick it anywhere and have light…

The gooseneck design provides the ability to move the light around much more easily than with some options, and with 22-inches multi-flex neck, you can have it shining down on the grill from just about anywhere.

Is it bright?

The 12 LEDs offer an even, bright shine that will help you barbecue up those steaks and chicken wings at night. It is constructed from weather-resistant aluminum, though we will note that some users have complained of water damage when left out in the rain.

The best LED grill light for countertop attachment.

PROS

  • Magnetic and screw-clamp attachment options.
  • Gooseneck of 22-inches for easy adjustment while cooking.
  • 12 super bright LEDs

CONS

  • Not fully weatherproof.

9. Light It! LED Desk Light By Fulcrum

Light It! LED Desk Light By Fulcrum

While not specifically designed for barbecues like many of the options on our list of the best grill lights, this option from Light It! is a use-anywhere style clamp light.

One light to use daily…

Most of us would agree that there’s no real need to purchase a light that is only going to be used on occasion when there are options that can be taken inside and used as a reading light, or as a craft light in the garage or anywhere else for that matter. That’s why we really like this option, as we expect that you’d get far more use from it in the long term.

That being said…

This unit is not weatherproofed, nor will it easily attach to many grill handles as with some of the other options here. Still, the heavy-duty adjustable gooseneck will hold nearly any position, and the clamp will attach to most tabletops.

What about the light output?

Using six floodlight LEDs, this unit provides a broader light coverage than some options, though it may not be the brightest. Likely still enough to add that little bit of light needed to see dinner by and offering a staggering 100,000 hours of shine.

PROS

  • Clamp-mount for use on most countertops.
  • Floodlight style LEDs for broader lighting area.

CONS

  • Cannot attach to many grill handles.
  • Not the brightest options.
  • Not made to be left out in the rain.

10. Weber 6427 Grill Out Table Light

Weber 6427 Grill Out Table Light

Perhaps the best grill light for weber barbecues is made by Weber, though there are some downsides to the Grill Out Table Light by Weber.

With three LED lights to brighten up your grill, this unit is not the brightest option available. In fact, we aren’t sure it would supply enough to cover the whole area of larger grills.

What about adjustability?

We liked the flexible neck that allows you to direct the light to where it is needed, as many of us cook multiple kinds of meat at a time, and they all need to be flipped at different times.

Don’t forget to grill up some corn, Mmmmm…

This option from Weber attaches with the screw-clamp that is common here, though the design would make it difficult to use on grill handles. We expect you’d find it easier to attach to a barbecue shelf, which is fine as most barbecues these days have a shelf to keep a plate handy.

PROS

  • Flexible neck to shine the light where needed.
  • Easy to use screw-clamp mount.

CONS

  • Most expensive option here.
  • Not the brightest light.

Best Grill Light Buying Guide

Hopefully, this review of the best grill lights has helped you narrow down your preferences on the many features that these lights come with. Now, to help you make sure you get the right light for your grilling needs, we will list some of the most important things to consider before you make the purchase.

Best Grill Light Buying Guide

Grill Light

Yes, there is a fair bit of variation in the output of the lights listed above, and that’s actually a good thing. If you only have a small barbecue or will be grilling up near a light source and just need a bit more focused light, then you likely won’t need a wide-angle grill light.

Similarly, if you have a larger grill and like having lots of people over for Monday Night Football, then you’ll likely want either a pair of lights or at least one that pumps out a wider and brighter beam.

Melting Issue

While many of these grill lights are heatproof, not all are. This can actually be a really big issue, as most of us want the light over the grill, which puts it directly over the heat source. You don’t want to buy a light specifically for your barbecue just to have it melt on you.

Best Grill Light Buying Guide 1

Weatherproof Option

You should also think about whether you are the type that likes to leave it the light attached to the grill or will actually remember to bring it in whenever the forecast calls for a chance of rain. We all know that once that meat is cooked, everything else disappears as the smells wafting off the ribs, steaks, etc. start to make you salivate.

Easy Of Adjustment

It’s nice to have a grill light that can easily be removed (especially if it’s not weatherproof as noted above), or adjusted. You may only be using one side of the grill for a smaller party this weekend, after all.

Gooseneck

When it comes to adjustability, we find the gooseneck style to be the best option there is. You can easily just twist it or arc it, as needed allowing you to spot the light exactly where you need it quickly and easily. Perfect if you’ve got a big grill cooking up lots of delicious mouthwatering meat.

Best Grill Light Buying Guide 2

Grill Options

There are a lot of different grill options out there, from charcoal to gas, and they all have their own setup and thus different locations that you could mount a barbecue light. Make sure you consider where you want the light to shine from, whether it’s straight down from the handle when the lid is up or from the side table, so the light isn’t shining on the ground when the lids closed.

If you have a stainless-steel barbecue, then a magnetic option is definitely not the best option. Additionally, as heat can affect magnets, these may be easier to move around but are likely not the best option for many users.
